At Logora, regulatory compliance and transparency have always been at the core of our mission. Today, we are proud to announce that we are implementing new developments to fully meet the requirements of Article 16(2) of the Digital Services Act (DSA), at the request of Bild, as well as in response to similar expectations from Der Spiegel and other leading European publishers.

With these updates, Logora becomes the first interactivity provider (comments and debates) to implement DSA-compliant reporting mechanisms, including for read-only users—those who do not hold a Logora account.

Strengthened and Shared Compliance

To meet legal requirements and increasing transparency expectations from publishers:

  • We are introducing a reporting form accessible to all users, including those without a Logora account, with minimal data collection (name and email address).
  • We are also launching a notification system that informs users when one of their comments is rejected, along with a clear explanation for the moderation decision.

These changes will be rolled out across all Logora-powered platforms, not just for the publishers who initially requested them. This ensures greater transparency and trust across all debate and comment spaces.

These two developments align with the obligations outlined in DSA Articles 16 and 17:

  • Article 16: Platforms must provide an accessible and effective mechanism for reporting illegal content.
  • Article 17: Platforms must notify and explain moderation decisions to affected users.

Understanding the DSA: A Turning Point for Online Interactivity

The Digital Services Act (DSA), which came into effect in February 2024, is a cornerstone of digital regulation in Europe. It governs platform liability and imposes strict rules around content moderation, transparency, and user reporting rights.

What the DSA requires:

  • A simple and accessible reporting mechanism for all users
  • Notification and justification for any removal or restriction of content
  • Increased transparency around moderation policies and user redress mechanisms
  • Stronger due diligence obligations for major platforms and services with significant public impact

What publishers risk by ignoring the DSA:

  • Regulatory penalties: Fines of up to 6% of global turnover for serious non-compliance
  • Loss of user trust and public credibility
  • Increased legal liability for failing to moderate illegal content
  • Commercial setbacks as advertisers and agencies demand responsible moderation practices

In short, non-compliance with the DSA means legal, reputational, and business risk.

Logora: The Only Solution Ready

As of today, no other interactivity platform has implemented these DSA requirements as thoroughly and comprehensively. By proactively applying these standards across all clients, Logora offers a clear regulatory advantage to every publisher that trusts our technology.

With Logora, publishers benefit from:

  • A platform fully compliant with both the DSA and GDPR
  • Transparent, traceable, and explained moderation
  • A partner that is proactive and aligned with evolving European legislation
